  1. Couldn't the same be said about manipulating people in a congregation into repentance? I wouldn't underestimate the ability of some church leaders in creating an atmosphere of pressure and even fear.

I'm curious about your take on the Mars Hill Church and the way it's run by senior Pastor Mark Driscoll:

  2. I've done a bit of posting on Driscoll, but I don't know enough about his ministry to have an informed opinion. Here's a useful source of info:

  3. A talented orator can manipulate the emotions of his audience, but he can't change them. It's like watching a movie. You may have an emotional reaction at the time, but it's quite temporary.

  4. It also depends on whether oratory is truthful. There's nothing wrong with being passionate about the truth.

  5. "How to Manipulate People to Make (Fake) Professions of Faith"

    Next satanic steps:

How to manipulate people to believe in their own (fake) professions of faith.

    and

How to manipulate people to believe in the (fake) professions of faith declared by others and to then declare them genuine disciples of Christ. (eg., Judas)
